Creating a connection between art and nature is the foundation of the commission to develop a thematic route between the Otterlo roundabout and the entrance to Hoge Veluwe National Park.
Visitors will view nature through the eyes of painters, sculptors, architects, and landscape architects associated with the Kröller-Müller Museum. Their perspective is captured in statements they made, which are incorporated into objects. They thus serve as a preparation for a visit to the museum: you get to know several artists better by observing their surroundings through their eyes.
The objects are functional, useful for people or animals—utility objects, not works of art. This is to prevent confusion with the actual artworks. You'll find a bench for resting, a bee hotel, a water point for people and animals, and a signpost. With statements by Aldo van Eyck, Carl André, Robert Smithson, and Auguste Rodin, respectively.
