Nagele is unique in the history of the Netherlands and beyond: a completely new village on a completely new piece of land in the former Zuiderzee, designed by young architects and urban planners with innovative ideas about urban planning, architecture, and interior design.
The renovated Nagele Museum reveals how and in what spirit of the times the village came into being, who contributed to it, and translates this into the present day: how do we view the process back then and what are the differences compared to today's approach?
Visitors, both adults and children, are challenged to learn through experimentation: imagine a village, draw a neighborhood, design a house, build a piece of furniture. The museum becomes an architectural playground for all ages. Construction materials and tools used by architects and designers define the image and are available to the public.
